This project was a collaboration featuring myself, Murphy Armitage, Jessica Cha, and Paola Meraz. The project was developed in Art Center's Testlab Berlin Program, during the fall of 2013. The goal of this project was to develop a new entertainment brand based in Berlin inspired by American culture. We explored the American history of Speakeasies and hidden-cultural-signifiers from sub-cultures requiring secrecy: Jazz and Prohibition in Chicago and Harlem in the 1930s, LGBT bars in San Francisco in the 1950s, and Freeform and Hip-Hop in the 1980s.
